Iirc quadros promised to fight corruption but he was also corrupted ,right?

Yes. He made an anti corruption investigation that went nowhere. about adhemar

There is an electoral rule in Brazil that when someone gets caught in a corruption process, they political rights are removed for eight years. When Vargas dictatorship ended in 1945Adhemar bought the entire supreme court and they nullified his corruption process to allow him to run.

My psychologist knew him personally

Apart from that, nothing else is set, he even collaborated with communists when he felt like it

The Logias de Artigas, Pacheco and Bordaberry were close to thw Brazilian military dictatorship. Then you people like Adolfo Tejera that knew Castelo Blanco and was given a scholarship by the Brazilian goverment. Pacheco stole the elections in 1971 with Brazilian help

Jango gonna make one regardless of what happens due his base reforms. Who doesn’t like quadros more adhemar or lacerda?

adhemar

Adhemar and Quadros fought for the control of Sao Paulo. Adhemar once visited a city and made a speech saying that he made dozens of sanatoriums, but none as efficient enought to put someone crazy as quadros. Quadros rushed to the city as fast he could and made a speech saying that he made dozens of prisons but none as big enought to put a criminal so fat as Adhemar. Is any new coup instigated by lacerda? denys is one of the main figures in causing the 100 days

is denys involved in any coup? YES

average integralist voter

Middle class macarthyists.

A huge problem that Salgado gonna face is that people vote on him hoping to crush communists, they do not expect him to enforce moral standards on them.

They vote in him to have him to beat communists and to put "people in their place", they do not want him to censor porn, close brothels limit alcohol sales, etc.

They have a vague idea that he has a extreme ideology.

There are true integralist voters who know the ideology, but they are rare.

And here one thing to consider.

The most immoral thing in Brazil, and the main unholy thing is the carnival. It is also the most famous festival in the country.

I wonder what is going to happen with it. Wink. Quadros

He's a moralist conservative. Basically he wants kids to not curse, people to attend their churches, be polite, the economy to follow the Christian values of social justice, etc.

He's like the good prince and Salgado is the bad prince of Christianity.

salgado

He's pro Italy, brazilian integralism was friendly to italian fascism He threw them under the bus when it was clear that Italy would lose the war, so his interactions with italy will change if the fascists are in power or not

There are only three things set for integralism right now that I can say for sure. First is that they can be elected in 1970 The second is that Salgado has a sucessor The third is that there is another way to get them, throught the military coup.

The whitening process only ended in 1969, I once suggested a black foreign minister and another dev told me that I'm being too optimist about how bad was racism in Brazil back then I recently asked my dad and he said that up until the 1990s you would see job opportunities with "whites only" written under it

The mexican integralists are the funniest, basically they are against the existance of the mexican state, since the spanish empire had an mandate given by the pope to rule mexico Thus they want to abolish Mexico and reabsorb it into spain

I just commented in the TNO Reddit this "Usually when a brazilian doesn't like Vargas they say stuff like "Look, Vargas had good points but he was too authoritarian and arrested people, so I don't like him" while when an Argentinian doesn't like Perón he says "I WANT TO BREAK HIS SPINE, KILL HIM, CLONE HIM AND THEN KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS CLONES!"."

Felinto Muller

He's the head of government if you do the military coup, and is classified as a fascist, it was the only person in the world that even Vargas feared

His nickname was "The most dangerous man in the country", his biography is called "The man who should have been at nuremberg"

Basically we discovered that he never wanted to be president and wanted to rule under someone else to take the blame for his actions

Brazil had the least worse dictatorship, there are worse examples

Like, the CIA supported Hugo Banzer since he was a neoliberal, and his chief of security was Klaus Barbie, the butcher of Lion

Alfredo Stroessner, the dictator of Paraguay for fourty years reintroduced slavery, this was so wrong that Ronald Reagan pulled his support from him

Integralism in itself is a loose confederation of thoughts that goes around the idea of the perfect society being an corporate catholic state You even have protestant integralism, it is called Domionionism That being said we are not going to whitewash nor blackwash integralism, we gonna try to represent as what is it, and it is not going to be a big chungus route in any way, especially since the most radical people ARE inside the PRP and they want blood!

adhemar's healthcare

Adhemar was also a strong figure. Assuming he succeeds he gonna be remember as one of the best Brazilian presidents.

A successful Adhemar has more prestige than a successful Quadros, for example.

jk isn’t focused on healthcare

This is not his focus. Kubitschek gonna use all his energy into making Brazil an economic powerhouse.

Many people is afraid of Kubitschek due the gas crisis, what I can guarantee, however, is that it won't be as bad as the dictatorship, not even Adhemar gonna hit that bad.

Vargas took power in the 1930 revolution, and in 1934 he announced he would run for another therm. His political godfather, Borges de Medeiros, wrote him a letter saying that there was no reelection and that since Vargas had ruled for four years he should give up and appoint Medeiros as a sucessor The problem is that Borges de Medeiros was a local dictator in his state and ruled for 24 years through rigged elections and repression. Vargas summoned his ministers, read the letter and commented "He ruled my land for twenty four years and I didn't say anything. I have been ruling for four and he's already complaining?"

Lacerda was almost assassinated in 1954 while under the Vargas administration by a lone gunman. He survived but was injured because he tried to defend himself by shooting back with his personal handgun, but shot his own foot by accident.

He had a INA 45, and the joke is that Vargas allowed that gun to be produced

Some presidents gonna try to make a Brazilian led block, Angola is a option to expand the block outside America.

Fun fact: Jango agrarian reform was based in the US one and it was right wing by every conceivable manner. He still got painted as a commie.

This one "The thing about the Dictatorship in Brazil, and in my opinion should be one of its themes was that it wasn't something really awful, even compared to other Latin countries like Argentina or Chile, but it was the one who lasted the longest and they murdered the dreams and hopes of a what was the most optimistic generation in Brazilian history. And everyone was hit equally, from the Trabalhistas in the beginning , to the Liberals, the Communist, the Traditionalists, all of them got their hopes crushed by the reality of the Dictatorship, and in the end of it, on the times of Geisel and Figueredo even the people who believed in the Dictatorship, the Brazilian Miracle and all of that also had their hopes killed "

how is there nostalgia for the dictatorship's economics if their economic policy was awful the worst effects didn't sink in yet?

They democratised before the economy imploded for good, leaving the average boomer thinking "Damn, they just left and things went to hell, they should have stayed!"

Brazil once had a grain shortage that thankfully didn't turn into a famine since the government exported so much grain that it lacked enought for the internal market. It probably works in the same way here.

Fun fact: one of the people helping to develop TNO Brazil grew up with Jânio and Adhemar.

Thanks to that person we know that Jânio was a prick and Adhemar didn't curse. Adhemar was a stereotypical gentleman, police and well mannered, sadly his character didn't transcend to the political world where he was pretty much a crook.Jânio had cacohetes, he would hit his cigar in the table all the time.

Like, we had a dude being elected in my state since it was leaked that he had a foursome outside his marriage, and this was seem by the gorillas who make most of the electorate as a demonstration of prestige. Adhemar is the exception for that mindset.

Standing here, I realize you were

Just like me trying to make history.

But who's to judge the right from wrong.

When our guard is down I think we'll both agree.

That violence breeds violence.

But in the end it has to be this way.

- Carlos Lacerda 1965

vargas jr is like the most corrupt person in the mod

There also was this moment when I checked one of their internet archives and contacted an administrator to talk about a pic for a mod. They passed me. Then I asked if they would prefer being shown as paternal autocrat or fascist, to which the admin replied "Fascist. Integralism was a reaction to the Jewish ideologies that infest the world."

Arnon de Mello, a senator for the PDC, attempted to assassinate a rival senator while in the National Congress out of paranoia with a gun, but he missed all three shots he fired and killed a neutral senator by accident. When he was later arrested and questioned by the police, he argued that it was "justifiable self-defense" because he thought his rival was going to shoot first and was deemed innocent.

whos the most pro cps brazil leader

i wouldnt say Quadros is pro-CPS, he’s more “we should accept Japan’s assistance to expel the Americans and diminish their hold on our economy” :speertroll:

JK's foreign policy will be mostly pragmatic and tied to his development strategy, so working to build ties with Latin America like in his first term and foreign investment, there will be some choice in what strategy to pursue there and which great powers to court
